Description

(Please see Full-Size!)
I worked on several versions to get this...I wanted to do a morph from inner-lights to a fully bloomed Flower. It just said something to me about Nancy & her work. Nancy---npauling (here)---makes these beautiful & most intimate images from fractals, photography, Poser & other 3D; and they always feel like they were painted from inside her heart. Sometimes she'll 'fractalize' a flower & surround it with wreaths or lights so you feel you're viewing it through the kind of orbs or glass balls our grandmothers had. In others, she'll place a poser-person on a path, and the path will have a magic, folkloric feeling to it, like she's walking inside an ancient tale. And Nancy can be so subtle with her figures, as all her fans know. Nancy has one of the most delicate galleries here, glowing & humorous & gently opulent...and if I had to pick a word to describe it, it would be 'love'. Her gallery is filled with love...beauty & joy & love. But there's also this: All who've been graced with Nancy's comments know she's always looking for the essence of what we do & embracing it with the greatest kindness. In months where I've been absent for so long, she's always in my gallery when I return, no matter how long I take to make the rounds; she's so supportive to us & so kind. In a world of so much discord, that's a sky full of sunlight, believe me. I hope my image isn't too 'packed', Nancy: That's always a challenge in my panel works, as it's hard to hone these down...But I tried to capture the sumptuousness of your work, as well as the love that emanates from your gallery. I'm so grateful for the gentle beauty you bring us, and equally for your constant support of us all, and I thank you for making us all shine because of your presence. Many blessings your way and many, many thanks for all you give. You're like one of your flowers, shining & rich & ever-bestowing,
Mark (The flower photo is mine. The rest is painted in PS.)

Mark, first of all allow me to say how grateful I am each time you post an image as it is always a bright spot in my morning to visit your gallery when ever you post. I'm especially glad you put together this lovely dedi for Nancy, as she is a dear friend to so many here and one of the kindest ladies in the gallery. This collage is one of the coolest I've seen in some time and each image is more expressive and beautiful than the last. In trying to select a favorite I realized each one is captivating in it's own way.

Wow, what an absolutely stunning dedi and artwork for Nancy. She is indeed a wonderful and very versatile artist and always so supportive, generous, and observant with her comments. This image is simply bursting with rich glowing color and light that explodes with life, as the flower is inspired by the sun to grow with all its passion. It is particularly appropriate for Nancy, who grows with the same kind of passion with her creativity. So beautiful, Mark.

This is the most wonderful dedi for our friend Nancy who as you say is a lovely kind and loving person and this always shines through with her art. I love what you did here and it was so intriguing to look at the image and watch it develop within each frame. Always love your work and love the colours and their vibrancy, thanks Mark, hugs Jane xx

Thank you so much Mark, I'm speachless, well nearly, with this fabulous series of images you have made for me, and that start out with the bud and gradually builds up to the full blown rose. Each image is a work of art of its own that blends into the whole. The colours are glorious and so well blended with the textures and the sense of magic. It makes me glad to be alive. Thank you so much for all you have done for me too and for what you have written about me, I am very humbled. I love looking at all the work that is posted each day and can never get over how different it all is even when people are using the same packages, they let their own flair make it different.

Ahhhh! Another of your marvelous collages that grabs all the conscious and unconscious senses. This one, to me, is a visualization of the aroma of the evolving bud, lighting up the "primitive" parts of the brain (the olfactory cortex is evolutionarily one of the oldest neural structures) as well as the visual pathways. Visceral and exquisite! A magnificent gift for Nancy. Thanks again for for extended visit to my gallery and for all your wonderful, entertaining and detailed comments.
