Description
Shot close to Jed Johnson Lake Wichita Mountains Wildlife Refuge. These little bees or at least I think that's what they are were all over these wildflowers I thing the contrast from the delicate flower pedals and the sharp thorny leaves and flower buds were both interesting and beautiful. Most everything at the WMWR is on the rugged side so I usually refer to the refuge as rugged beauty, one of my favorite places in Oklahoma, USA.

Very fine loveliness in this with the delicate flower, the sharp focus of the smallest details and the bright OK light~ Yep, thorns...lotsa stuff with thorns there, a certain person who used to be a flip-flop-wearing youngster remembers them well. Did you notice the super-clear water of the lake? Lovely place to wade and cool off.

Terrific lighting and textures in this shot of the bees having a field day with what looks like a poppy.
