Yeoman Mathias leads the way to the cargo bay. A crewman has the heavy duty transporter warmed up and ready for action as they enter the bay. Renn Tolbac gives the yeoman the coordinates of the item to be transported. He communicates these to the crewman who keys them in and activates the transporter. They all stand back and await what the transporter locks onto. Renn is quite apprehensive at first fearing that the item may not be transportable. But after a few brief surges of power, the beam starts to materialize what appears to be... yes! It is the ancient doorway they looked at the previous day down on the planet. Dax asks Renn why he wanted to bring this up to the starship. Renn says he needs an analysis of it and also a possible age. Prince Leto gazes at the whole enterpise with bemused curiosity. Yeoman Mathias communicates with the crewman at the transporter controls and finds out that upon first analysis, the frame around the doorway is indeed the purest quantity of unobtanium that has ever been discovered. An analysis of the door itself comes up with a huge question mark. The material doesn't match anything in the knowledge banks of the starship's computer. As to the age. Another big question mark. The doorway seems to be unimaginabley ancient. The best guess the ship's computer can make is several billions of years old. There is some writing the transporter discovered and the ship's computer is trying to decipher it, but has not been able to yet. Renn walks up beside the doorway and begins to inspect it. He tells his companions about the two girls that came through one of the other doorways. As best as they could determine, the girls were from a time in the past of ancient earth. They had been vacationing on an island called Sexotic, he thought, and had discovered a doorway in an abandoned cave. They came through it and wound up in the present time on the planet below now designated D-935. Just as they were starting to examine that doorway closer, there was a rockslide on the other side. Boulders came crashing through the doorway damaging it to the point where is exploded and vanished before their eyes. That doorway had been open when they found it. This doorway is closed.
