Prince Leto and Renn Tolbac are keeping a vigil by the wormhole door and watching the monitor for any developments on the other side. The tiny fly sized probe has stopped short of entering the prison cell where the missing spacehip crewmen are held captive by a crowlike race. Dax Dunnbar and Yeoman Mathias are in a conference with the captain of this Federation starship in an attempt to develop a plan to rescue the crewmen before they are served up for lunch the the crow people's queen. Preliminary plans are in place. There is a forcefield around the wormhole door incase the presence of the probe is detected and the crow-men decide to investigate it's source. But luckily thus far, it remains undetected. A portable robot has been placed by the door equipped with many useful items in case they decide to use force to rescue the crewman. The identity of the young officer of the doomed crew has been revealed. His name is Lieutenant August Franklin. He has been talking with one of the crow beings off and on since they have been watching. Currently, the probe has zeroed in on his conversation with a particularly talkative crow being. The guard seems to be a library of information and is giving Lt. Franklin detailed answers to all his questions. Since they have been listening, they have learned that this race of crow beings only recently discovered this decoy planet as they call it. It appears to have been drifing in space for eons and is a remnant from a very ancient and highly advanced race of beings. The crows are very adept at figuring out how things work and discovered many of the secrets of the 'decoy planet'. Since they live by conquering other races and then consuming most of them, they devised a plan to incorporate this planet into their tribal hunting rituals. The three secret military space ships from Prince Leto's planet have been their only prey thus far. Most of the first ship's crew have already been consumed and half the second ones. The guard figures that the men in this cell should be ready for consumption in at most another week. Prince Leto, upon hearing this news gets very angry and shakes his fist at the screen. Renn calms him down and tells him that they won't let that happen. Some sort of rescue will be devised and soon they will take some revenge on these crow beings for the misery they have caused his people. Thank you for taking a peek!
