I am 58 years young, live in Johannesburg, South Africa and I'm a true product of my continent. I love the bush, the animals, sunshine, sunsets - oh well, anything to do with nature. I am unmarried and have three sons - 37, 33 and 30 respectively and three granddaugters aged 12, 6 and 4 respectively and obviously the light of my life! Photography has always been a passion and I have loved it since I can remember. I was still using a SLR camera and only switched to digital only in late 2007! My other passion is travel and I have been lucky enough to have travelled fairly widely. There are however still many, many places I would love to visit "one day." I am truly an amateur photographer and do it merely as a hobby. So please be gentle when you comment on my work. :-) Thank you Piet, my dear friend, for convincing me to place my work on Renderosity. You owe me one! Hugs, Carin xx

I can see where Andrea is coming from - those are chocolate puddings up there. Super evening shot.

Even water tanks you can make look beautiful with such a lovely background :D

Such a gorgeous image! I love Andrea's comment, too, because I thought I was the only one with dessert on my mind! I love the light and shadow byplay in this and those water tanks look positively science fictional! Hmmm...you got my wheels turning here and that's a good thing. I love the title for this, too...it has such a poetic ring to it, really. This is a great and inspiring image!

Andrea, reaching into her bag of puns for another infusion of wit today. Great capture of the subtle, but sharp, silhouetting against the darkening sky, Carin!

I love the delicate colors of the sky. That must be the most beautiful place!

beautifully bleak, the clarity on the tanks and platform is strong & beautiful, it emerges out of the scruffy grass beautifully, and your soaked-pink sky (in the lower portions) perfects the shot and also gives beautiful contrast to the tanks. Chocolate against pink...A simple but complex shot, very moody (you handle mood about as well as anyone here), and a fascinating juxtaposition of man-made forms against a vast background of sky & nature. Can't do more now, but I'll be back in the coming weeks. (And I much appreciate your work & spirit in the forum. I'm not there much, but whenever I am I always appreciate your openness & embrace & generosity there.) You continue to do beautiful heartful work...
