I object to it quite as much as you or any of the rest of us. It has to stop or they will end up destroying themselves. You'll have to move quickly now to avert any further 'strangeness' for her. Her accounts were sealed a few hours ago, but we managed to pull some out for her just about the time they were taking off. It's been put in your account. Her apartment will be gone and she'll have no place to live. She's dead to the world now and you are going to have to get her through this. We will do everything we can to help - within reason. Lex has been working on her documentation. Just get her out of there and somewhere safe until we can get things set up for her."

"I think you'll have to, otherwise nothing will make sense to her. She has to be involved in this...because she is involved in this. She's our best bet to crack this open. For right now, just get her out of there before she alerts too many people that she's still around. She's still a bit gob-smacked. Don't give her time to collect her wits. Go. Time is of the essence here."

It seems they are saving her. They'll make her dead to our world so she can move about it more freely. I'm guessing she's an undead of some sort. As to the behind the scenes purpose, I'll try to wait patiently and see. Excellent image and rather creepy looking. Maybe they're the vampire version of the CIA. Awesome work.
