Description

A gull flying over the northern end of Willapa Bay, just off the dock at Tokeland, Washington. Check out this month's Photography Forum Challenge! The subject is Animals. It isn't a contest ... just a way for us to challenge ourselves as photographers, and hopefully take some shots we normally wouldn't have tried.

An or'nery gray gull doing what it always does, except, you got a great photo of it as it passed by. I'm always amazed at how birds take off, land, and simply hover effortlessly. Returning home after a long walk across town, I rested on a bench in the park, watching a man in wheel chair feeding ducks, crows and other birds. I wished I had had my camera along. So many characters those different birds have! Something that made my blood boil today - read this - http://conservativebyte.com/2012/05/obamas-war-on-bald-eagles This MUST be stopped! For information on bald eagles, check out this on YouTube (and do click on the links on the page, too!). What bird can get this close to a human? And be so protective? And is so intelligent? http://www.youtube.com/watch?NR=1&v=nMingidt6pc&feature=endscreen I'd love one as COMPANION (note - they are NOT in any way "pets"!). Enjoy! :-)

A great capture, Tara! He (she?) is very graceful in flight - he also looks pretty serious - must have his eye on a tasty fish below...

Perfectly placed! My only regret is that I am flightless. Oh, we'll! Gulls don't have gardens.
