Hi, I'm Andrea, and I'm interested in creatures and plants both wild and tamed, and people of all sorts. I only use a compact digital camera ,as I love being able to get it into a back pocket, and not have to cart heavy kit about. I carry a Panasonic Lumix TZ series, binoculars and a hand lens almost everywhere. Most of my outings are with the dogs so I only use point and shoot.
I am getting the hang of Photoshop, thanks to some very kind folk on RR!
I have a wildlife garden in Bournemouth, Dorset, in the UK, and spend a lot of time there . I retired from teaching art to teenagers a while ago.
I'm now getting some good results with my digi compacts; it took me a while to make the switch from my old film camera, an 1960 ish Pentax Spotmatic, but the mistakes are much cheaper!
I have 4 lodgers, 3 dogs and a parrot who, as at 2017, I have had 40 years.
I has so far had 19 dogs, mostly rescues.

They do have a strange look upon their faces or maybe they are just in a rush as most are great shot here.

You are right, the young couple look very upset about something, while the elders seem to be enjoying a lovely social chat. Excellent postwork on this Andrea.

The people on the right, really seems to have some troubles, our something to worry about; not going such easy in life at the moment, I guess. Sure I can be wrong, but they are not very open to each-other, in the contrary with the people on the left. It's a great capture and observation, Andrea.

Intriquing photo and postwork. Perhaps the young couple did not like having their picture taken. If I saw a camera pointed at me I would probably react the same way (one of the reasons I don't take pictures of people).

Very determined young people as for her bag, the only bag I do is the one I take to shows :o) When I go out at night I have to look for things to put in a very small Radley bag I have :o)

The contrast of emotions really stands out in this fine image.

There's a difference between frowning at something and being habitually suspicious and angry. Your mother was right ... your face really WILL freeze like that! LOL! I wouldn't approach either of them. They both look like they're ready to spit vitriol. Excellent capture!

Stellar contrast and composition, A. The younger couple appear a bit bothered on being photographed. I get those expressions all the time. Sorry folk, you're public domain!

They don't look very relaxed or pleasant, do they? Wonderful work!

Yes, the young couple look really down. Who knows what has happened, that made them look that sad. Hopefully they are just "morning quiet" :) Excellent postwork.

I love the color selection over the postworked section. I have found that the elderly people that go outside every day have a much better attitude and outlook in life. I think today’s younger workers are facing a very uncertain future and their faces reflect that. A wonderful people study!!

Well done postwork. Really nice.

superb postwork .. the young couple is too wrapped up in their rushing about, they should take a lesson from the old folks and stop and smell the grass and the trees and soak in the sunshine and enjoy each other!
