Description
Sherman Firefly
This is a 1:76 scale model of the Sherman Firefly. The Firefly was originally intended as a stopgap solution to Britain’s need for a new, more powerful tank. The Firefly incorporated a revised model of the 17 pounder anti-tank gun. Problems fitting the original 17 pounder into the original Sherman turret resulted in a redisign of the Sherman’s turret and of the 17 pounder gun. It was the most powerful gun in an allied tank and was effective even against the German Tiger II tank’s thick frontal armour at 914 meters.

I haven't posted for a while due to much to do and not feeling very well. I've tried keeping up with posts at Renderosity, but haven't been able to comment much.
I'm also considering getting two rats as pets - I'm tired of being alone and at the mercy of two-legged "predators".

My friend, another fine model.. I never made this one myself.. But others in our small group did.. We never had many.. A beast of a gun, shame really it was still in a rather easily flammable tank.. But Allied crews, especially British (experience tough this early....), hung spare tracks, sandbags almost anything on the outside.. It helped! Will write.. I'm back in the UK now, feel free to contact any time.. Rob

Two of these and you had a 'blown' bridge, that certainly slowed 'Jerry' down and with these in ambush "you can swap that shiny Panther for the burned out hulk version" ahhh! the happy days of 'War gaming'...not entirely sure it was fare to have these in France in 1939 against PzKwII's....but hey! it was my pasting table and my scenery .......sorry! got a bit carried away there....as you may have guessed, I built a few of these too :-) on reflection it's quite scary how much I must have spent on models...I mean these were about £1.10p each!!! Very cool model Michael, and so many great memories...a genuine big thanks for this one mate....

These were Premo #1 targets for the Germans. Many had their barrels painted to hopefully confuse the enemy gunners!

Nicely presented and with statistics, great work!

Just read the entire Sherman Firefly wiki. 95% of what I read was new to me. Glad you uploaded your model. The actual tank did a great job fulfilling its stopgap purpose. Outstanding presentation Michael. Keep up the good work! Hope whatever has been causing you to feel low is a fleeting thing. Life certainly has its ups and downs. But rats? :) White rats I presume...

Two rats ? Why not two pussy cats ??? I'm sorry to hear you've not been feeling good lately but I can say your talent is not affected. This is great.
