Description

As you can see, the chicks have grown up. They have left the nest, if not the area. Mom and dad are still watching out for them. I was out on a boat when I took these. The thing about a boat. They move--all the time--as the water moves. I was very lucky to get these few that were almost good..I just wanted everyone to see how beautiful they are.

Ooooohhh...MY! THANKS a LOT for following up. Yes, the boat does move, but there are those magic moments between waves when movement is minimal. This photo is great, despite boat movement, which I dare say isn't noticeable! My, how beautiful he/she is! The sharp look in the eye. The watching stance. I wonder what it's thinking? Not in the nest (probably no room for 5 large eagles), so I wonder where they roost. Did you see any indication that he/she remembered the "strange being" up the cliff from several weeks back? About 3 months old, and so grown up. I assume they are now learning to hunt for their own food, now that they've learned to fly. I see the beak is starting to turn yellow, but the head feathers are still black. When do they turn white? Aw, I'm so glad to see you've been able to take a few photos and post! Keep up the good work! :-)
