The Battle of two Red Harte-beest or not ?
Alongside the “road” between Twee Rivieren (border with Botswana) en Mata Mata (border with Namibia) through the Kalahari desert we saw about 7 red hartebeest. For what so ever reason they had a high interest in something on the ground and did not allow each other to approach it. Still a puzzle for me ...... what was on or in the very dry soil.
Never the less these Red Harte-beest is a very nice animal to spot and much bigger not as often seen as a spring bock or impala.
We left Namibia on the south east border with RSA, and we visited the Kalahari Frontier National Park from the RSA site.
We made in May 2011 a trip through the southern part of Africa ( RSA, Botswana, Zimbabwe and Namibia) .
