Fort Worden, Battery Kinzie
Port Townsend, Washington
As I'm sure many of you have realized, I'm interested in architecture. :P The clean lines and no-frills look of coastal artillery emplacements from a hundred years ago are especially compelling. I love the abstract quality of artillery batteries when viewed a section at a time.
This is the west wall of Battery Kinzie.

You know, it could be almost the beginning of someone building a pyramid, with a balcony ;) sand all around - it just fits right in ... a simple and uncluttered photo makes this an outstanding image Tara, BB BTW thanks for that wonderful explanation re Eleanor Rigby, it makes perfect sense - you hit the nail on the head, as a few more had agreed with you. I loved the fuzzy slippers comparison ;)
