Description
Captured 5/18/12, at the beautiful Whittier Narrows Recreation Area in not-so-beautiful South El Monte, California.
Not the main reason I went to the area, but couldn't resist taking fotos of the wildlife while I was there.
Pics 2 and 3 not as sharp as I wanted. Maybe it's because the goslings were fuzzy to begin with.
Adieu, thankx for the peek, and for any and all favs and noncritical comments.

I like how the parents stand tall looking for anything possible that could harm the young goslings. All three photo are jist fine Harry and they make a wonderful collage!

A beautiful family of Canada Geese! Lovely shots all. Well gone Harry.. Yes, its quite possible the camera could not cope with the fuzziness of the youngsters! But I like! Rob

I thought I'd done this one---I see I haven't: Well good, it's a delightful collection and I'm glad I stopped here. There really is a difference between the adults and the goslings, re your complaint about the children not being as sharp: The proof is in the contrast between them: They're sharp in the top shot, while the goslings aren't---and that's all in the same shot. That tells us that it's not your camera or your settings. There must be something in the way the goslings' absorbs light that makes them hard to capture...they seem almost like 'dreams'. It's an amazing contrast, however, and the children are very soft and cuddly, while the adults---as all Canadian geese are---are firm and upright. And you got several of the children flat on the ground, eating like dogs. Delightful captures, Harry. (And that sharpness/softness contrast is a total mystery to me. I've never seen such contrast in one shot. It's almost as if the goslings have a protective 'shield'...)
