Description

I can fix anything! Where's the duct tape? Captured 5/22/12, early morning, within walking distance of my daunting domicile. ZOOM worthy. This section of wall has been in a state of disrepair for a very long time. This is the second attempt to fix it using the time honored band-aid approach. I assume a lack of funds is the problem. Pozegnanie, thankx for clicking on, and for any and all favs and noncritical comments.

Very novel. Must agree with A:) I'll bet even duct tape doessn't stick for long on porous brick.

Great capture Harry, just a quick coat of paint and this will blend right in with the rest of the wall.

Yikes! This is really tacky! Duct tape is pretty amazing stuff, but this doesn't even give it a chance to show its native abilities. I could come up with a dozen way better, more esthetically pleasing and equally cheap repair methods without much thought at all. Great photographic reporting, Harry!

That will not last long. Here in our climatic conditions such repairs would have no chance. Fantastic and funny find and shot!

I love the responses here, and I agree with Denise, great photographic reporting, i.e., finding the picture where most people don't even bother. And I agree with bill, this tape doesn't look like it'll hold too long on porous brick! You've composed the shot so the tape, etc, is right in the center; and yet the wall goes back on an angle, giving a nice counterpoint, as do the two different toned walls on top, and the different-toned brick on the bottom. For a simple shot, it's got several things going on. Love the shot, love how you eyed it and went right for it, and how bold it is. I've, more times than I'd like to remember, fixed things in this fashion until I could afford to do it right. And oh, when the work falls apart, it's a pitiful sight. I'd love to see this as rain & wind tears it to shreds. A really inventive shot, a really good shot, and classically composed for a shot that's all about chaos. Harry, I'm only back for 2 images per session right now, to ease my way back over a 2 to 3 week period. But I'll catch up over time. You posted all kinds of fine stuff in the last few weeks (I've seen everything), and I'll get to them over the days. Thank you for being in my gallery in that time. I've done mostly dedis, and I would turn off comments---for fairness---but when it's a dedi (or an honoring), turning off comments isn't fair to the recipient. So thank you for being so loyal. It's meant the world to me.
