Description

Thank you for stopping by. all your views and comments are greatly appreciated. The bridge that some experts once thought could never be built San Francisco's Golden Gate on Sunday officially celebrates 75 years since its opening May 27, 1937. Despite strong ocean currents, stiff winds, and earthquakes, it stands as a beautiful and functional monument to American ingenuity. Now, if only the fog would burn off and stay gone so we can watch the fireworks tonight.

Hope that fog rolls far enough off shore for you! The new bay bridge will be quite a feat too!

Nice shot. I was reading about the celebrations for the Golden Gate Bridge this morning and said to myself "I'll bet costaspanos will have some images on Renderosity before long".
