I've been on Google Maps looking at photographs of your city. Such a wealth of texture and interest! This is a beautiful image, and it seems to represent the town well. Texture, age, architectural detail, and those wonderful street trees ... I would love to walk there with my camera! Every doorway, every wall, every window, holds the promise of my favorite sort of art. I love what you've done with this photograph. Gorgeous!

The tree gives shade and invites you to linger. Beautifully soft filter, Nikolais. I get soft knee...

your postwork makes this seem a place from another time. It has a striated feeling, like it's involved in deep thought and is shaken a bit by what it's thinking. Yet it's gentle and radiant at the same time. The overhanging leaves and shadow lead to this beautiful doorway, which you've turned into a thought-process with your slightly jagged postwork. Jagged but very gentle. Beautiful as well...I will write too, to your beautiful letter, as soon as I take a break. I agree with all you said, in any case, and of course your work demonstrates it over & over again...

I love the impressionistic vibe this image has. There's a kind of crystalline quality to it that really appeals to me. I generally look at stuff like this and see--at least for myself--that it exists somewhere on a border, between photography and another form of visual art, and this is a perfect example. It's a photograph, but it feels like a painting. And your mention of Armenians in the area has put me in the mind to hear some nicely mournful Armenian music: a perfect thing on what is promising to be a sultry night here in Chicago. This is a marvelous piece of work, as always.
