It is true that the Sisters of the Pearl hold a unique position in the world. The church of Aphrodite is well known for spreading beauty, love, peace,… and usually their legs. They have amassed great wealth and power. They control most of the brothels on the continent, as well as assorted senators, aldermen, sheriffs, lords, ladies, and councils. What they don’t control directly, they influence. What they don’t influence, they have a piece of the action from. What better commodity to sell that permanent beauty? What better way to increase the sex trade when everyone can be as gorgeous as they wish, as busty as they wish, or as well endowed as they wish? I’m sure others wish they could get in on that business. However, the Sisters of the Pearl got there first.

Now, it’s not to say they are all trollops and tramps. Some are catty, backbiting egotists,… true. But not all. The Queen of Carellon managed to rise above her own church to become Queen, and a very noble Queen she was. Still, the orgies in her palace were legendary. Some have made a life of helping others, not just spreading their legs, but true love and peace as well. If you care for that sort of thing.

Attached to this church of Erotics is a band of specially trained holy warriors. Now every moral ethic has its Paladins, and the Guardians of the Sisters of the Pearl are no exception. These Guardians are as often as not Defiant Champions, as dedicated to the cause of Good as they are defiant of the strict laws of man. In the end, though, their goodness is their defining quality. From time to time however, one strays a bit from that path. When a Defiant Champion wanders towards evil, they don’t always become Anti-Paladines. Some seek a balance, if you could call it that, between Good and Evil. They become Pariahs, a paladin who serves the heart of chaos. They rail against any law, break every taboo, march in pointless demonstrations for any reason that intends to bring down the status quo, and generally make asses of themselves with drugs, sex, wild parties, violence and destruction. Basically, they’re tweens that never manage to grow up or out of their self-indulgent idiocy. Jeulae Minnough was such a nutcase.

When she met Aenna Srymmyn in Tarkania, she’d been on the run from her own church for a year. As a tall, muscled WarMage with both divine and erotic magic, she could certainly take care of herself, and basically, between her attitude and her luck, that’s the way she ended up living. But there is a time when even a crazed Pariah needs someone to watch her back. Their common love of the outdoors, their disdain for law and order, and their unbridled libidos were enough to draw them together. Somehow, their mutual chaos canceled out and they became the closest of friends and lovers.
