Description
This is an experiment that I've never seen: reproducing a famous painting "as is". Some statistics: 529.000 faces, 15 lights, 23 m. to render.
I think you all should know already the original picture (1931), currently at the N/Y M.O.M.A., and one of the most viewed images from the 20th century, but here's a link on the net: http://www.ricks.edu/Ricks/Employee/DavisR/Art/Dali,%20Persistence%20of%20Memory.JPG
The question, my friends, is: what would Dali think about if he could view my version of his work? Please tell me.

Well, I did not know him personally but my wife did, her dad was a good friend of Dali and belive me, I've never heard of anyone as selfish as Salvador Dali, a fantastic artist (may be my bigest inspiration) but oh boy, he would have not admited that you did a good job, he was the creator, he was the only one with talent. (even when you did a fantastic job)

As a surrealist and a fan of Salvador Dali i beilieve your recreation of the work is probally as good as it can possibly get without Salvador Dali painting it again. Viva La Dali. May his soul rest in peace.

I hate to use the word SURREAL but here it is! I think Dali would have loved the irony of having the dimensionality of his work reproduced so expertly in a format that even he could not have dreamed about! WOW!!!

I am just curious, How long did this take you to do? you should reproduce many different ones , hell maybe try a buncg od Dali's work and make a story where they all fit together. That would rule. I'd Buy it from you. I am sure many people would if it was an animation at least 30 minutes or so long that showed how each scene became the next. would be an honest TRIP to remember.

Truely amazing, but where is the dog in the mountain?

I almost choked when I saw this, astonishing. P.S. that Odin guy..... Persistance of Memory 6 out of 10? I assumed he must be a far greater artist than Dali, then I looked at his gallery. Kindof begs the question, should the mentally subnormal be allowed access to a couple of grands worth of 3D modelling prog?, they will only break it. P.P.S Dali would probably have said something about the eroticism of the pomegranate, or possibly just "fish" and wandered off twiddling his moustache.

Maybe even Dali would be speechless like most of us... great work

Great job recreating. Now for the what would Dali think? He was a progressive inovator that would not have copied another's work in such a way. He might have been amused for a moment and then asked for a sword to smash it with.In some ways it's more detailed than the original and that might have intrested Dali. But to me the greater question is what Dali would have done with a computer?
