Description

The Tale of Pierre Perrat Pierre Perrat (dead in 1400) is a french architect who built the cathedral of Metz. It is told that he received the help of the devil and promised him to give his soul after his death. But Pierre Perrat knew better and asked to be buried under the cathedral thus the devil couldn't take his soul with him. A clever man, Pierre Perrat. :-) I choose to represent the scene when the devil gave him the plan of the Cathedral Saint Etienne. Have a great week-end ! ********************** La repréentation de la légende de Pierre Perrat, architecte de la cathédrale de Metz. Il est dit qu'il aurait reçu l'aide du diable pour l'édification de la cathédrale Saint Etienne en échange de son âme. Mais Pierre Perrat étant très futé, il a demandé a être enseveli sous la cathédrale et ainsi le diable n'a pas pu emporter son âme. Donc, si je suis bien, quand on entre dans cette cathédrale on est en quelque sorte guidé par le Démon ??? C'est bien d'avoir évité les clichés et d'avoir fait un diable sans cornes...je reconnais bien ta subtilité et je vois, une fois encore, un bel exemple de ton talent. C'est vraiment très réussi.

Une superbe représentation de cette épisode, qui me rappelle mes lectures enfantines des 'Contes et Légendes de Lorraine'...sans savoir qu'un jour tout ceci remonterait à la surface en une si belle image!...Une idée pour illustrer une autre belle légende de cette voisine Lorraine: celle de Mélusine...!Belle journée et félicitations, Virginie!
