Description
Clipped off some Magnolia blossoms and hung them above the scanner and then messed around with PS. The blossoms are much too large for this technique (in my opinion) as the scanner could only light the front edge. This image is dedicated to my friends who don't like skulls or dark depressing images - though this is still a dark moody type of image to me...

I too like this effect! Very dramatic and moody.... wonderfully neutral colours and undertones! Well done!

I love this! The colors are amazing! And so is the clarity. I am not familiar with the technique, but I think it works beautifully. I think the lighting is actually perfect - it creates this moody feeling and old school painting, chiaroscuro effect. Gorgeous. And thank you. I think I am one of those friends you mention. :)

A real sculptural beauty, and I think the shadows add to the image. Yes, indeed. Chiaroscuro. This also reminds me of a beautiful fractal. And thank you for the skull-free image. ;)

Interesting technique, producing nice result. It looks like a painting. But I agree with you, this image is a bit depressing, I don't know exactly why ... maybe missing some skulls ;o)

Wow turned out very nicely - interesting technique! Van Meer would have been envious of this scene and moody lighting.

Beautiful image!! I gotta give this a 5! We all seem to struggle with art, smashing every detail into the smallest of spaces. I'm almost certainly one of the biggest offenders. So much can be said with so little, I can't remember why I try so hard to do otherwise. Instant fav.

This looks fabulous and the light has come out so well.
