Description

Well now we have passed through all the gates in the realm shadows and finally stand before the king of the underworld and lord of death, Azrael. Interestingly enough he is the youngest of the angels, created by god 600 and some years after man was made. Then he was needed to kill of Adam. I have no idea why the mongolian flair got into the image, I kind of like it though. Take care Ash (watercolor and ink)

Noticed the oriental look right away but only adds another layer of mystery to the work. It took a bit to realize those were stylized wings and they look quite super. They have a very organic look - like tree bark. The upward flow throughout gives great harmony to the work.
