the salmon is the fish of the Pacific Northwest Indian tribes and is figured in almost all the motifs you see
besides that, it tastes great! the real fish that is, not the statue

Beautiful capture Mike. If you have ever watched the salmon waiting for the chance to jump up a waterfall or rapids, this is what it looks like as they are battered around by the force of the water.

A great shot, Mike! What a wonderful statue! Oddly enough...... Today was our 41st anniversary - we went to our usual rather pricey but excellent restaurant we visit once a year.. LOL! The 'fresh catch of the day' was Copper River Salmon from Alaska.... OMG, was it wonderful! Now, I'm hungry again looking at this sculpture!
