Description
there is a funeral happening right now in my neighborhood for a police officer who lost his life in the line of duty this week.
10,000 police officers are standing at attention outside my church. it is both heartbreaking and beautiful.
all the roads around me are closed for 7 hours today.
R.I.P. Officer Kevin Ambrose, thank you for protecting my neighborhood.
(Poppy is the floral sign of consolation probably because it was created by "Ceres" while in search of her daughter, Proserpina, to assuage her grief).

a police officer her in Denver was killed recently... he pulled over a driver - I never heard why from the reports, and made the driver get out of the car... as the two stood there, a drunk driver hit them both. the police officer died, the news reported he died and then for the next 48 hours they said he was in intensive care and then said he died - from what I heard, he died with in that first 24 hours and they retracted that he died so they could notify next of kin I like your image, to me I'd call it: "We Need Our Holidays" = it makes me think of a pumpkin and an exploding fireworks - 4th of July.

Barb, you did an outstanding job on this beautiful dedication for officer Ambrose. Police officers and firefighters put their lives on the line every day for us, and receive little appreciation for their efforts. We often don't realize how important they are and how valuable their service is to us until we are in need of them. Their sacrifices should be honored as they are all that stands between us and terrible situation. That is why I have always felt in my heart people who follow this calling are a cut above the rest.
