Description
OMG, where has the time gone? It seems just like yesterday when I posted #2000.
Captured 10/18/09, at the beautiful Orchid Show held at the beautiful Huntington Botanical Center and Conservatory in beautiful San Marino, California.
Most ZOOM worthy.
An indoor tripod-mounted photo, taken with my now defunct Konica/Minolta DiMage Z3.
This variety seems almost uncharacteristically obscene.
Cheerio, thankx for stopping by, and for any and all favs and noncritical comments.

A beauty of an Orchid, Harry. Not an Orchid expert, but this may be called a Ladyslipper.

What a wonderful capture of this lovely orchid Harry

What a delicate and fragile beauty you have here, Harry. Nicely done. I had an orchid once. I think I over-watered it. Nice to see one so crisp and healthy.

A splendid orchid and a marvellous capture of it too.

Oh, a beautiful, full faced capture of one of the most beautiful of all flowers. It strikes me that, In the course of your multiple flower-captures, you've caught many different poses, gestures, personalities, light-patterns, etc, of flowers...so it's fitting that, for another milestone, you've given a flower that's almost smiling for the camera, as if recognizing another milestone (2100). It even has a mustache, I think, like an Italian opera singer! It also strikes me that, with all the subjects you capture (from garage doors to photographers-taking-pictures to electrical towers to beautiful antique cars to early morning shadows to landscapes and waterscapes and birds and koi and on and on), it's fitting when you come back to the flower, a subject that's been like a ground for your wonderful and varied gallery. Congratulations on another 100! You continue to seek and celebrate the art of photography in everything around you, and remind us that the picture is wherever one's willing to unearth the poetry & song of life. Congratulations and I wish you many, many more! (Btw, the flower really does look like an opera singer with a mustache. I dare anyone to say it doesn't!) Beautiful shot for another great milestone.

Oh wow, this is beyond gorgeous. I've never seen an orchid like this--what a beauty!!

Now that I think of it, the mustache reminds me of a sliced red bell pepper.

this is very lovely shot of this flower

I can see the opera singer! Congratulations on this big number, Harry. I have a fear of my gallery getting too big so I have so far moved about 2500 pics to Flickr where I can keep them in sets of similar subject matter. I should really have been a librarian!

Very beautiful!!

It's a marvelously complex specimen; like a ladyslipper orchid, perhaps? At any rate, wonderful clarity and detail on this capture, Harry, and congrats on your milestone!

There is nothing obscene about this wonderful Orchid, on the contrary - it's a stunning treasure to add to your vast collection ... well done on another milestone, Harry BB
