Description

Captured 11/19/10, early AM, from somewhere in the general neighborhood. Don't bother to ZOOM. It comes out the same size. And, sorry, no original here. The flower was past its prime and so decrepit and full of blemishes that I didn't have the incentive to post it in this collage. But it still had its good basic parts, so I drastically resurrected the bloom in order to bring it back to some form of beauty, which called for extensive digifiddling in this case. Allaismalardik, thankx for popping in, and for any and all favs and noncritical comments.

Especially like the bottom one. I've always loved yellow Roses the best.

It's a marvel of reconstructive work, Harry; yellow roses are so nice, it's hard to just pass them by. The bottom one almost looks like a sculpture, well done you!

I love what you have done for this beautiful rose it gives it a great facelift. It is a super capture even when it was past its best.

Magnificent capture of your roses and flowers you have added recently to your Gallery Harry...I am sorry to admit I'm behind yet again. I haven't forgotten you. Just some things going on here at home. I do hope you are fairing well and in great spirits. My phone only allows me to comment on so many pages here at a time, no idea why, but I will get to as many as I can tonight and try to hit more tomorrow. Thx for your patience.

I understand your not posting the original, but from your description, it sounds like you did major surgery...and from the natural results, one would never know. In fact, I can only hope you find more blemished flowers, so you can do your magic on them. Both of these are beautiful. The first one, you have a striation of some kind, diagonal lines which run gently through the petals. It's gentle and makes the flower seem like it's quietly vibrating. (I like what it did to the background too---that little blue thing in the lower right is beautiful as a result.) The bottom version is breathtaking: Your softening is beautiful, and your filtering for gentle light that washes over the petals, like cream, makes it appear like a vision. These postworks (and I know there's another set a few pieces hence) prove how close you are with your subject, and how much you understand it. I can't even picture what the original was like, but you resurrected a pure rose out of it, the mythic rose I think we think of when we conjure "a rose" in our heads. A beautiful pair...and btw, the basic composition, angle and light is pitch perfect. Can't overlook that. Another beautiful entry in this distinguished series.
