Wonderful capture of a terrible event. Too many distractions to drivers these days, between cell phones, texting, gps and so on. At highway speeds a couple of seconds of inattention is all it takes to end up with a tradjedy like this.

I agree with Jim. I was driving to Atlanta this weekend and had this big rig right on my tail he would have crushed me if I came to a sudden stop. Sorry to see this a message to all to slow down and pay attention.

Awful for the driver and all who were caught up in it. The picture is quite newsworthy.

This is such a sad site Richard, and hard to imagine the force behind this crash to cause this sort of damage.

Always saddens me to see a scenes like this... my dad drove trucks all his life and had only one accident (a guy committed suicide by running his car into my father's semi). There seems to be a large number of unqualified drivers on our roads these days... I've seen 60 year old retired school teachers behind the wheels of these giants, and more than a few of the new breed don't speak English at all, not that I care, but how can they read a map or road sign? My brother also drives (almost 20 years now). It's an easy job to get into, but it takes a special person to actually become a trucker...

So many drivers go over there hours the European ones do it here when they come overtry and complete the journey on no sleep I mean it maynot be the case in this instance but it is always a problem here. I am sorry the driver lost his life. Cathy xoxoxo

Being my oldest brother is going on 33 years driving and when I used to ride along on many trips seeing this just about once a day was common...Though tragic and sad this usually happens from over extending your abilities and falling asleep behind the wheel..Though I won't rule out other scenarios like cell phones/road rage/eating (ect).....falling asleep is usually in the top 3 as to why..
