Thank you all that wished PK a Happy Birthday last posting. The link below will take you to a much earlier image in this series for a brief narrative. This is a private club, but I am hoping to get a privileged look of it's inside. Key word "hope", it is a friend of a friend that is a member. Incredible! Excellent shot. The "privilege" of admission would be dubious, indeed. The private club is for male members only. Women accompanied by a member are allowed in for dinner on Sundays, and there's a strict dress code. The club is embroiled in hostile work environment/sexual harassment lawsuits by female employees who were fired after filing suit. Nice people. It seems membership is down and some men who have been invited to join are declining the honor.

Was just going to say that about women not being allowed, but Tara beat me to it and she doesn't even live around here! It is an imposing place, but was built in a most unpleasant way. Hundreds of Chinese immigrants were "hired" to do the work. Not much later, after a shooting in Old Town, virtually the entire Chinese community was put on a barge and shipped out of town. Those old boys weren't the nicest guys around.
