My name is Tara, and I was born and raised in Washington State.
Â
In 2010 I married Bill (bmac62) and retired ... two of the best choices I ever made! :)
Â
In March, 2013, we sold our home in Washington and went on the road in our RV full time. What a blast! There is so much world out there to see!
After traveling around the West for a few years, we got rid of the motorhome and are now spending winters in deep-south Texas and summers in Washington State. Spring and fall finds us visiting whichever place strikes our fancy at the time!

Nice shot and a nice song. Styx started in Chicago and I think they are still playing.
Faemike55
I like both Styx and the song as well as this great photo

Missed this completely. Reminds me (a bit) of the carvings on a violin. I'll pass on Styx:)

Amazing details my friend. :)))))) I know what you are talking about when you speak of a song or group you don't really like. LOL!!!!! Most excellent capture. :))))))))) Thank you for sharing my friend. :))))) I also want to say thank you ever so much for the sweet and kind comment on Miss Sophie Anne. :)))) She is very loved. :)))) She is most special to us. :)))))) Carry A Smile In Your Heart :)))))))

The title is very evocative and doesn't need to be limited to a song you don't like. There is also Enya's Orinoco Flow which uses the words "sail away" in the refrain. Magnificent image.

A little hand-carving makes it stand out!

Delightful detail shot, Tara! Love the warm woodtones, and graceful curve of this bit of nautical decor!

The alternative would be to 'come fly with me' to hum along to Frankie ... the composition of wood against the metal looks quite unique, a part of Grandpa's rocking chair but ocean-going ;) BB

I always zoom, and with pics like this it pays off in spades. This is filled with bright whites, and therefore the gentle sweep of the wood (and metal) make a beautiful abstract upon all that white. The white is really key (and it takes on full voice in zoom). And you have two strong darker sections on each side---the shadow, upper left; and the near black area in the far right. In an abstract work like this, those accents are key. A beautiful simple play of forms; and, in itself, a fine abstract. Another reason why your closeups turn a 'moment' into a work of art itself...
