Description
Some gorgeous roses from very high rose bushes, to forget the storm. It's thundering and it's been hailing for some minutes. Fortunately the frozen bullets come from southeast and don't massacre the flowers on our balcony at northwest. Flavia has just told me: she is the green thumb in the family. Yesterday we were at the very rim of a tornado that ploughed some islands in Venice. It destroyed trees and chimneys, but no victims. If you google Venice tornado you'll see it. The Upper Adriatic sea is infamous for this sudden cyclonic winds from the sea since Homer's Greeks came here to trade.
Thanks for your kind comments.

The tornado made big news clear over on this half of the planet. It was a sight to see and I know just where it was. Loved Venice.

This is a massive wall of roses Sandra and a beautiful photo. You have had more than your share of bad weather and earthquakes.

Wonderful color play, the white background, the saturated bright yellows (heavily on the left), the wonderful upbeat greens, and those flowers shooting up everywhere as if to greet us. A design fitting of the best decorative art of the 19th C. And very light-bathed. The flowers really do earn the word "bloom" here. Beautiful. And tornadoes in Venice??? I googled it and there it was, lots of destruction. I had no idea you got tornadoes. I thought they were strictly an American Midwest and West phenomenon. We don't get typhoons (how they're different from hurricanes I don't know), but we get tornadoes. Anyway, stay out of their way! I've seen a few in the Prairie, and they are one of the meanest most otherworldly things you'll ever see. People take pictures of them, but so far I haven't had the guts to drive out to the prairie to get some shots---the winds and rains are too turbulent anyway. In any case, you wouldn't know there was anything wrong with the weather in this shot. It's so vivid and pure. Beautiful work.
