Description

Monday, June 4, 2012 Here are the stairs (to the right in the left photo) I used to stand on when photographing some of the panoramas I made of the big hole forming the foundation of the Triangle Shopping Center's expansion. My last panorama from the stairs was on Wednesday, February 15, 2012, see - http://www.renderosity.com/mod/gallery/index.php?image_id=2300592&user_id=5273&np&np It's interesting to see how much progress has been achieved since that date. From the two photos here it is clear I can't take any more photos from the stairs due to the walls being erected. The photo to the left is looking south along the eastern wall, towards the location of my upload of June 7, 2012, see - http://www.renderosity.com/mod/gallery/index.php?image_id=2337197&user_id=5273&np&np Of interest here is the cross piece and flange type of construction, the cross piece being on the pillars and the flanges being on the ends of the concrete beams. However, I do wonder how stable this type of construction would be in the event of a strong earth quake. What, a quake in southern Sweden? Yes, they had one 4.3 on the Richter Scale a few years ago at 4:15 AM, some 30 kilometers east of Malmö city. They are very rare, but do occur. Enjoy! :)

yeah, builders tend to erect buildings without regard to people taking pictures. been several really interesting building sites here but with huge fences obstructing the view. super subject

I don't know alot about construction I'm afraid, but i presume like everything else Michael, these types of buildings are cheap to build, thus I suspect not very durable. I could be wrong of course ..... When's it due to be opened?
