Description

Monday, June 4, 2012 This photo was taken standing at the top of the stairs shown in the right hand photo in my previous post, looking up (see - http://www.renderosity.com/mod/gallery/index.php?image_id=2339459 ). The upper edge of the yellow fence is visible here. The pillar at the left edge of this photo is the same as is to the right just above the top of the stairs in my previous post. The beam at the top of this photo is the same one running along the top of the photo in my previous post. Here, I'm standing looking up at the two large cranes. The vertical lines and the horizontal lines in the concrete construction parallel the lines in the cranes, which I found rather interesting. Note - on the end of the beams are identifying notes about each beam. This sure helps identification and where to place them in the construction. Enjoy!

It amazes me how much of these huge parts and pieces can now be fabricated offsite and assembled later onsite. One very big erector set:)

I really like this photo Michael, gives a great impression of scale. I am getting reverse vertigo looking up at that crane. i couldn't possibly climb up there and work - ever!!

Thats a great POV!!! Gives a super impression of the scale of these things.. And to think, they had these perched on top of that new building 'The Shard' or whatever silly name they've called it.. In London.. Not a job I'd like much but.... I bet the pay way great! Well taken mate! Rob
