Description

I usually don't post the same subject twice in a row but these African Penguins are so cute, I couldn't help myself. The mother was preening her chick for a long time and then proceeded to "love" it when another chick looked at them as if to say "Will you love me too?" Poignancy among penguins. Love this shot, evoking all kinds of anthropocentric characteristics, Carin. According to the few television and movie films I've seen on penguin behavior, mother penguins who have recently lost their babies will sometime attempt to steal one away from another family. I don't know about the Jackass variety though.
