Description

This is 1 of 2 of this "68" Mustang Fastback which was owned by my Nephew the same guy who sold me my "70" Mustang which I have posted here. My Nephew is a Classic car collector in that he's always buying older rides and then fixes them up and re-sells them, so this is just another one of his rides he has owned and as time goes on I'll be posting others he's owned. Now this car he brought over to my house the day he got it as it was shipped to him from another state and when I seen it I thought -"What a fine machine" this is. He didn't have it long as he told me it was very bad on gas and he didn't pass many gas stations for what ever reason but it was one of the coolest "68's" I've seen. At any rate I hope you like.

So fine! Seems your nephew has a knack for finding clean classics. Any idea who he lists through to sell? My wife was supposed to inherit her Grandmother's all original '66 Mustang. Long story-short...A conniving Uncle begging for a daughters(wife's cousin) first car ended up buying the car about 3 grand. The price was all the cousin had saved and could afford so we all thought. Uncle "M" laughed all the way to the bank though, the cousin drove it for less than a year realizing that it was in much need of restoring. BTW Grandpa "D" had bought the car new off of the showroom floor for Grandma "A" and as Grandma reached her 90's she had stated that she intended to bequeath the car to the eldest grand-daughter. Uncle bought the car back from his daughter who was all too happy to get rid of it because of all the repairs and the fact that it drove like a 40+year old car. Loose steering box and whatnot proved to be too much for her. So Uncle "M" knowing what the car was really worth dumped an untold amount into the restoration...turned a handsome profit knowing that if the car stayed in the family that it would forever be a "bone of contention". Grandma "A" lived to the ripe old age of 97(alone as Grandpa "D" had passed some 30 earlier)My wife has not seen or heard from the Uncle and cousin since this happened even though we all still live in the same state. There isn't a day that goes by that my wife can't spot a classic Mustang coming down the road and someday, I hope to fulfill her dream of owning one in hopes that it will help erase some of the pain:( Great pic as always! I will never tire of your work as this is without a doubt a service to all interested viewers. -Rick
