Description
Scipio the African has come! Metereologists have started giving curious names to weather phenomena in Italy, probably following other countries' fashion. The fact is that the first official summer heat wave - a perfectly ordinary fact - has beenn nicknamed after the Ancient Roman general, Scipion the African, so called because he defeated Hannibal's Carthagenians in Northern Africa. And, since the anti-cyclonic heat wave comes from Africa, some genius decided to call it from old Scipio. With the difference that it's the African heat tha't hammering on our horns ...
Anyway, these are roses from my friend Patrick's garden, and I enhanced their peachy hue with a bit of postwork.
Thanks for your kind comments.

wonderful piece of history and legend, and the roses have turned into infra-red beauties with your postwork, partly because of the intense reds, and partly because of the yellow and white outlines on the petals. And you put these flaming roses against not only greens (natural backdrop), but a collection of purple flowers in the background. One of the key features in this present series is its strong saturated hues, and this is a prime example. It's beautiful how you get such interaction between hues in this series. And your composition here brings them to us as if they're piling in front, for a photo. More scintillating and vivid work from you, in yet another of your fine series...
