I am 58 years young, live in Johannesburg, South Africa and I'm a true product of my continent. I love the bush, the animals, sunshine, sunsets - oh well, anything to do with nature. I am unmarried and have three sons - 37, 33 and 30 respectively and three granddaugters aged 12, 6 and 4 respectively and obviously the light of my life! Photography has always been a passion and I have loved it since I can remember. I was still using a SLR camera and only switched to digital only in late 2007! My other passion is travel and I have been lucky enough to have travelled fairly widely. There are however still many, many places I would love to visit "one day." I am truly an amateur photographer and do it merely as a hobby. So please be gentle when you comment on my work. :-) Thank you Piet, my dear friend, for convincing me to place my work on Renderosity. You owe me one! Hugs, Carin xx

Wow...what artwork! I can't imagine working with beads so small! Makes me think of the Native Americans and the tiny beads they use in their art. I don't have the eyesight or dexterity to do anything close to this!!

it's an art that various African artists have done exquisitely. (To be found in some other places in the world too, but the African varieties have stunning hues.) The beautiful yellow-ish greens are signature to several African cultures, as you may know from first hand experience (I know it from study); as are the orange-ish reds...it's this way of combining 2 hues into a unique and eye-bending combination, along with the general sense that the hues are bathed in sunlight, even 'mixed' with sunlight, as if they made their hues by stirring sunlight right into their pigments and dyes. It's extraordinary...For a shot which has so much going on, you still got an overall cohesion, by getting the verticals on top, that 'band' in the middle, and the tapestry at the bottom. Whether you chose this consciously or just by instinct, the instinct was spot on. And I assume that getting all these hues in equal clarity isn't easy, but they shine forth here; and I'm glad you dug this out because it's a street festival for the eyes, and a capture of wonderful art in its own right...
