Description

This photo was taken in the Cypress Swamp area, of the Loxahatchee National Wildlife refuge, west of Delray Beach, Florida. The Great White Egret is widely distributed across southern Europe, across the Sun Belt of the United States and in the rainforests of South America. They stand up to 3.3 ft (1 meter) tall, and have a wingspan of 52 to 67 inches (131 to 170 cm). Body weight can range from 1.5 to 3.3 pounds (700 to 1,500 grams). Some info from Wikipedia. Cool Bird/Capture Dana!.. We have sand hill cranes up here in Wisconsin that sorta resemble this one you captured..My wife say's they look like mini Pterodactyls when they take flight....lol....
