I have been into photography for over 40 years, and the pull doesnt lessen. As a family we have always been keen walkers, and that gets you to some interesting places.Ive recently been to Southern India as a member of an adult support team with our local community school to Chennai so the camera never cooled down i can tell you, (watch this space). I live in Chard South Somerset, and have fairly recently converted to digital, at first reluctantly, but now enthusiastically. Its great to hear others comments on your pictures and i am looking forward to loading up my space. Alan. Almost through my first week and inspiration levels have rocketed, thanks for all those comments they drive me on.

Thanks Alan. I am originally from New York...about 15 miles east of here. I heard that the Highline had been saved and turned into a park. Bravo!!! I like your night shot of the lit buildings and the fading sky in the west. Well done.

A brilliant shot Alan and thanks for the info.

Great shot Alan , the Highline park was featured in an English Gardens magazine called Gardens Illustrated lots of good shots in the daylight but none like yours at night, its a fantastic place and you are lucky to have been there.

nice to see bill here as a native of the big apple, and to get his perspectives (as another of our truly sensitive photographers). I'm told you can see Jersey from here, as well as the towers of midtown (from certain vantage points). But I'm also told it's a very low-key place in spots. A gentle, quietly contrasted capture of a night-lit office building set against the west sky (that's New Jersey back there, though the law requires that you call it "joir-zey"). And some kind of billboard or building painting to the left. An enticing and quiet NY capture, with magic rather than the bustle so often associated with NY. Scintillating light. I'm looking forward to the rest of your NY offerings; it's a pleasure seeing it through your eyes. A fav for your offerings so far. And now I'll comment on a few older shots...

A superb photo! I think it is Myrrluz (Lucinda) who showed us some daylight shots of the Highline.

Great capture. I like the mood you captured. Is it my imagination or has the lit up building curved and slanted edges?

So impressing, with sky, lights, colors and POV!
