I have been into photography for over 40 years, and the pull doesnt lessen. As a family we have always been keen walkers, and that gets you to some interesting places.Ive recently been to Southern India as a member of an adult support team with our local community school to Chennai so the camera never cooled down i can tell you, (watch this space). I live in Chard South Somerset, and have fairly recently converted to digital, at first reluctantly, but now enthusiastically. Its great to hear others comments on your pictures and i am looking forward to loading up my space. Alan. Almost through my first week and inspiration levels have rocketed, thanks for all those comments they drive me on.

Ah, yes! the neck muscles! 'Tis why I don't go to the proms in the park. Good to see your pics, but I think I should not like it.

lol, andrea, sometimes she calls skyscrapers in my shots "ghastly"...I always say a prayer for Andrea when I post huge city-scapes, that she should survive the experience...But alan, this is a wonderful treatment. The fish-eye actually makes it look like a plate or a brooch or something of a keepsake. It fits the area, because Times Square truly is a visual barrage, ie fascinating, crass, beautiful, ugly, almost like a crazy video game. In your capture, it crams together like a vision in a crystal ball ("yoo will meet a talllll dark stranger..."). I love it. I don't know what TSquare is like today, but I know that for many years it was a seedy place, even though it was near some major literary and journalistic places. (It was named after the NY Times, as you probably know, in the early 20th C, as they moved their offices to that area). Maybe today it's a big tourist trap. But I love what you did with it, making it like a big toy, or a small brooch to wear around our necks. Lots of fun, and a really nice layout. I love it.

Nice fish eye shot & a clever way to capture the "assault on the senses" you mentioned...

I had the same feeling when I wandered through Piccadilly and the section of mega-stores. I do like the fish-eye effect!
