Description
Just back from a week long trip up the Oregon Coast - all the way from the California border to Cannon Beach. This is the Yaquina Head Lighthouse, which is located just north of Newport. Built in 1872, it's the tallest lighthouse in Oregon. Though we did get to visit the inside of a couple of lighthouses on our trip, we got here a little too late to visit this one, so had to settle for a view from the outside. Thanks to Tara (auntietk), a ligthouse aficionado, for suggesting several lighthouses to visit on our trip...

I love this! Thanks for providing me with a view we didn't get to see. Rain and time kept us from going down to the beach there. Your postwork is gorgeous! The sunlight on Yaquina Head is wonderful, and I like the way you've made the landscape as important as the lighthouse. The location is much of the story of Newport's two lighthouses, and this view makes it clear why they replaced the old one with this beauty. Fabulous work!
