I think this is a first for me - 2 uploads in one day!
I just learned today that Prime members can upload up to three images a day! DAH! It's been nearly a year and I just found out, LOL.
Anyway ... if you went to the video link in my last upload you noticed a LOT of squirrel chatter going on. From studying these little blighters I have discovered that they have some SERIOUS personal space issues and get very angry when someone enters this certain zone that seems to be know only to red squirrels, lol. Thus the terrible ruckus and lashing out, lol.
In the top left panel of this collage you will notice the beauty of the fluffy tail these like buggers have.
OH, BTW, no doubt you noticed the McDonald's fry box? Well, the funny thing is that though most of the red squirrels would eat perhaps one fry, the majority it turns out were VERY health conscious and had a preference for the seed. However there was this one particular junk-food junkie that wanted ONLY the fries, LOL, so he got most of them!
The bottom right panel shows one of the squirrels becoming desperate enough, when we stopped the hand-outs, to risk getting close to my wife's feet as he searched for the last scrap of food. If only he had ANY IDEA of just how risky it is to get near HER feet ..., LOL. He is lucky she had been wearing sandals and her feet had had time to air out, LOL! OOPS! Sorry hon, HeHe!

Holly is lucky Mr. Squirrel didn't take a bite out of the little piggie in the market and make Holly scream eeeeee eeeeee eeeeee all the way home - lol

Oh my! Some of them do get so tame. But, they can get viscious, too (as you note about the territoriality). mikeeerson's comment really got me laughing. But, when desperate for MORE, they can take a good chunk out of your clothing (!) or, as other rodents, take a nibble on a toe or two (particularily if you're wearing socks!). I'm surprised it wasn't scared off by that huge "predator eye" (the camera lens). Great job with these photos, and very lucky to get them. Any more photos like these? Could you in such case post them? Keep up the good work! :-)

T.Rex is right! We had squirrels at my college Cal State Fullerton, the giant Grey's. Lots of us would go there on the quad, on the grass, and chow down on some KFC... those squirrels loved KFC! And if and when you ran out they would come up to you and chew on your sneaker toes!!! o0 Many had no tails! It's so cute while thye take KFC from your hand..... and so darn scary when you run out! Sweet capture though! I do love little squirrels!!! HugZ! Ariana
