Description

many thanks for dropping by, just a post of a pic from a sunset in my city i took many years ago during the haymen fire here in colorado. but now we have the waldo fire in which i have been mentioning, our city is now on fire!!! the flames have moved from the upper foothills into the lower part and has destroyed several houses and the world famous flying w ranch, my mother just visisted this place a few weeks back for cancer surviors get together. it was est. in 1957 and is no more. all residents in a massive area on the north west of the are and have been evacuated. i'm about 25 miles east of the fire. so i will be safe as long as the city don't burn down. cdot has shut down interstate 25 for several miles to ease the evacuations going on, this is the wildest thing i have ever seen in colorado. been here since 1967. you can go to kktvnews.com for videos if you like.. was not a pleasent site seeing people loose their houses. news just said some 32.000 people so far have been evacutaed. so i pray.. lol and thanks a million for your concerns, prayers and attention. lol Steve thank you for the comments on my last: Planet Vixen thumb_2342951.jpg

Last I heard was yet another one has broken out around Boulder now, freakin crazy how much of the West and Southwest is on Fire. Last year it was Texas burning, luckily there is a whole lot of Texas and no major populated areas were in danger. This is nuts The West is on Fire, Florida is Drowning...well it is 2012 and 12-21-12 is drawing closer, is this the opening act. Peace

I heard that Gov.Hickenlooper has banned fireworks because of the extreme dry conditions in the state, but sales of them are still permitted.

This reminds me a bit of the big ice storm we had in Ontario in 1998. It was so destructive, knocking down powerlines, wrecking homes... and yet it just all looked so beautiful. This fire is obviously a much more imminent danger, though, and I hope Colorado is spared soon. Warm thoughts to you all.

What a disaster the fires are......my son lives across the highway from the AF Academy and up the hill a little way. He says the fire would not "jump" the six lane road......hope he is right. I worry.
