Canada, that big, strange to the senses country situated between those two tiny countries, Russia and United States of America.... you can't miss it, cold as hell in the winter.... either hot and dry or wet and wetter in the summer.... Canada, my home and native land.... where we celebrate a weird uniqueness in the world.... Canada, not a melting pot, but a land of diverseness... Canada, where even a dream can be fulfilled as easily as a nightmare... Canada, a hope for the future for the young and the old alike...for the time being anyways... (nefarious forces in Government want to take away our special "Canadianess" and replace it with a kind of Hollywoodish Americaness... woe betide if such a plan comes to fruition ....) Canada Day, when a community gathers for music, fun, food from strange foreign lands (like Toronto), frivolity, for the young and old alike... this is our land, more than a beer commercial, more than a chance for politicians to glad-hand around.... this is the real deal, folks... political comments aside, if you didn't have a great day yesterday, have a great one today and tomorrow!
