Description

Still experimenting with prop lighting + IDL. No illumination from standard Poser lighting. Figure is James G2 with FaceRoom morphing and texturing (so the texture is very low res). The pitfall at present for prop lighting is not so much the illumination aspect itself. It's if you have to render the prop, or (as in this case) render a translucent item that contains the prop. What I have here is a ball primitive scaled down to 28% and high Ambient (something like 225). It is place inside the lampshade, which has translucency. Normally, this makes the lampshade render pure white, but as a cheat I hooked up the Translucency Color to the texture map. (That might be illegal....) That doesn't make it look right, but it's better than pure white, at any rate.... Additional lighting is provided by a relatively low Ambient value on one wall of the room.
