I grew up in East Berlin, and then had an LP of her. Since music was able to buy only from capitalist countries on the black market, I paid 40 for Eastmark (my monthly income was then 400Eastmark!) Joan's rendition of "Please, forgiv me" touched me nor today. By the way she plays on 21 July2012 here in Berlin. Thank you for the picture of this amazing artist and the memories!
