Description

To all my R'osity friends who celebrate Happy 4th of July! Credits: Another in my Patriotic Collection, this is a companion image to Star Spangled Hummer and was created for a client. Created in Photoshop using modified rose and hummer by jaguarwoman, and painting techniques. With the extreme fire danger there are no fireworks in the Colorado mountains this year. Hope you have a great 4th! CC Fine Art Specialty Store Website

This is such a splendid magical image and even though I am not an American I love how you have done this. What a shame you can't celebrate your 4th July with fireworks but it is great that you haven't had the fires at your place. Have a great day anyway.

this is the first year in Colorado that I haven't heard ANY FIREWORKS... usually you hear a bunch a few days before the forth.... and even the illegal ones cops didn't really mind as long as you were responsible - I'm afraid we just witness a change in the times for the forth here in Colorado. .... I like the butterfly - nice... the flower coloring/design should of offset from the butterfly so they didn't blend together.

the pieces you're doing for clients (of which we've seen only some, I'm sure) have been just luscious. This, like the last image, has such a playful element. I mean, it's filled with your signature lushness, silken hues, silken background textures, emerging and submerging lights and hues and shapes, etc, but it also has this beautiful "cartoonish" quality, in the best sense, very childlike and fairy-tale-like: and it's just a delight. The center flower, plus the two buds on top, are so much like actual 'characters', they feel like characters from a great animation (like Miyazaki, or animators of that caliber). And the butterfly is wonderful, harmonizing with the hues of the flower and the flag beneath it. And I love the wonderful beetle on the bottom (with more american stars!). Man, you turn patriotic images into big street dances, bursting and dancing and jumping and joyous and sensuous. And it all sits in the middle of a big beautiful blue undulating sky---makes the fourth a whole other holiday! Beautiful work, Carol, just beautiful. And I hope you're all doing ok with the terrible fires around you, and with the torpid heat. Hope your holiday week is peaceful and sweet in the midst of it all...you sure posted some beauties for the rest of us...
