Description

I shot this wedding a few months ago. The Marine was one of the lucky ones. On that day, there was another soldier that came home to be buried. On this 4th of July, I take the time to say Thank You to all of our soldiers.

A beautiful tribute to those who guard out freedom. As you imply, life is fragile - he comes home and marries, his comrade comes home to be buried. So sad and tragic, yet in the middle of another's joy. Looking at his chest, I wonder what this lucky fellow has been through - those medals signify something. Though physically unharmed, I wonder what traumas he's suffered. Is the radiating light due to sunlight reflectiong of something, or is a skillful post-work? It adds to the photo, like someone blessing the two. Keep up the good work! :-)
