Hi, I'm Marilyn. Â I've been posting here on RR for a few years now and thought it was time to update my profile. Â It's been wonderful learning so much from the amazingly talented people here. Â I've had the chance to meet many in person and some have become great and good friends. Â Starting with a Kodak Brownie camera when I was about 7 or 8, moving up to Instamatics, Polaroids, then the Pentax K1000 that really got me on the way, I've been looking at the world thru a lens for a long time. Â Got the bug honestly; my dad was a photographer and gave me the gene!! Â Digital changed the world and I jumped in with both feet. Â You would've gone thru 100's of rolls of film in one day the way we can shoot and delete all day long. Â Progess...it can be awesome sometimes.
At any rate, RR rocks, the talent is over the top and I'm just gonna keep on shooting!!
Thanks for looking and keep those cameras rollin'!!
peace.....marilyn

Ba-boom! Honestly, when I first saw the image, I thought you must've taken an old film image of one of the nuclear tests from the 50s, even though you were a kid back then and it would've been VERY unlikely that you'd be hanging out at test sites for fun at the age of 3, lol. But this is a sunset after my own heart, given the number of blown-out sunrises I've sought. But you got real vividness of reds and yellows, and the waves are big red carpets, and that sun? Sorry---I keep thinking nuclear fission, lol! But the sun is filled with nuclear reactions, so maybe you just got the essence of the thing in one shot. Wonderful eye popper, and a wonderful unexpected image for the 4th. (We didn't have a sun like this, but we had enough heat to make our own. You wanna hear about heat? You wanna hear? I made a sun in my living room!) Happy holiday to you to, m'dear!!!
