Description

These two Dj's are called The Broken Hearts - they are Amber and Nisha, they can be heard on Jazz FM . We had a huge fire at our local gas works in the centre of town yesterday, an evacuation took place of those within a 500m radius so I spent most of last night working at our Town Hall helping to find alternative accommodation for those who couldn't return home. Thankfully only two minor injuries - a huge response from all the services and volunteers. A real community spirit despite lots of worries and concerns for people. Thankfully everyone was able to return home this afternoon as homes had been left unlocked and pets had to remain in homes without their owners for 24 hours. It was amazing how doctors were called to provide medication, a local church group cooked chicken dinners from food donated by supermarkets - The Police, St Johns Ambulance, people offering strangers a bed for the night and provisions like nappies, pet sitting, blankets etc. Too numerous to mention. British spirit at its very best.n An explosion was averted with the slow release of the gas that remained in the tank. Thank you for your continued support Susan

Glad to hear your town didn't blow up. That's never fun! Excellent capture of these ladies! :) They remind me of an old sci-fi movie from the 60's. If I remember right all the women like them were aliens. ;)

Thanks for the information, very interesting, I've often wondered what happens in a case like that. It's great when community spirit shines! I assume the girls have their hair styled and cut like that, to mirror their 'Broken Hearts' name!

Wonderful capture of these 2 DJ's Susan. Oh dear what a frightening experience for everyone, you did a great job helping everyone, well done, I am sure they all appreciated it.
