Description

For Dakotabluemoon The David Brown Selectomatic 880 tractor 1965 - 1971 Farm/Agricultural tractor Manufacturer: David Brown Factory: Meltham Mills, Huddersfield, England Total built: 33,378 I have a friend staying for 10 days which means I get to go further afield than usual. Today was Brownsea Island, and in particular the Dorset Wildlife Trust Reserve there. As soon as I saw this splendid machine I thought of you, Brandy! Imagine this golden oldie did the same job as good as the new fancy ones, with all the bells and whistles of today. Hats off to the pioneers that worked hard, from dusk to dawn with this ancient machine. They truly deserve a medal. The farmers of today have it alot easier however they still are the begin and end all of the grocery store food chain. Some city folks truly don't "Get It". Thanks for sharing Andrea. Sure hope you and your company have a good visit Andrea. The next 10 days will fly by before you know it.

Old, bruised and battered, but still looking beautiful in this stellar shot, Andrea! The tires/tyres look in rather decent condition.

it's hard to come back for only one image after a couple of weeks absence, but having chosen most recent one made my eyes pop out with "how could I be luckier?!!" Beautiful capture of an old beat up beauty, real clarity, I love the pov (the way it seems to curve to us as if to say, "hey, how ya doin'!"), and that you caught that blue on the roof and the green-yellow on the engine, and the old wood to its right and all the detailed leaves, and the little truck in the background...a real beauty! And a treat because I don't remember too many tractors in your gallery! Just wonderful! I hope you're enjoying your summer, Andrea. I hope to be back for more soon...

It looks flimsy, but if it's in that sort of condition after all these years, it must be tough and reliable! Very cool shot. I love all the colors!

It is in tough shape but lots of character still. After all it has to be at least 41 years old!
