Description
I always liked the A4E "Scooter". It always came across to me like an aerial MGB or some other cool sports vehicle. It also looked like one of those aircraft that you "wear" rather than sit in. If I had my druthers, I'd pick one of these up for a spin. This one is trying to drop on the deck of the USS Oriskany. (Yes, I know...he's just visiting...) Just a long percolating goof with probably more to come in the same vein.
A4e Skyhawk...long forgotten free on the web, very nicely done piece of work. Some tinkering.
USS Oriskany CV-34: free by Gacek on Sketchup warehouse...I also could not resist tinkering with it.
Various aircraft, tugs and such that are there but invisible for all practical purposes...from here and there with thanks to whoever knows he/she made them.

Great image - well executed, but primarily, I LOVE the perspective on this!

mighty fine, bud! a strangely deserted deck, but what do I know??!!

Stunning image Bill, really good in all aspects, especially like the heat haze on the jet blast.

THanks for the generous comments and observations. Texboy...I actually think the deck looks pretty abandoned too. I did feel better about it because I referenced a photo of the Oriskany during recovery, and most of the activity was forward, concerned with moving recovered aircraft in that area. THey are there in the render though. You can't see it because of angle and lighting, but there are 3 Phantoms with folded wings in the forward area, an E2C Hawkeye, and a small tug. In the aft area of the island, there are two small tugs and an SH-2 Sea Sprite on the elevator. I consoled myself with the knowledge if not he visual.

Great perspective and watereffects! Would like to see the CV again in a more closeup-render ;)

Well you did it again Bill. I was just starting work on a Harrier approaching the H.M.S Hermes but it looks a little to much like yours so it needs a re-think :) Nice details, flaps down and heat haze and the wake looks great. Another favourite!

Awesome in every way!

Very impressive. Good work. I like such pictures. I saw the model of Oriskany on Sketchup Warehouse but was unsatisfied with it. But from distance no one sees the drawbacks of this model. There are a lot of models on Sketchup Warehouse, not really good but useful for distance pictures.
